Champions Trophy 2025 : They’ve come to a hybrid conclusion over the scheduling model for the 2025 champions trophy after a long wrangle with each other that lasted quite some time. The BCCI decided it wouldn’t be dispatching the Indian team to Pakistan during the scheduled tournament due to security issues. As per reports the move was initially turned down by the PCB.
ICC Events Will Not Require India and Pakistan To Cross The Border
President of PCB Mohsing Naqvi and some top executives of ICC conducted a virtual meet on 14 December 2024 and went over the loose ends of the hybrid model which was relatively more dynamic in comparison to the traditional model. It has already been understood that neither of the nations aims to travel to one another’s territory for an ICC event.
Thus, the India-Pakistan game in the 2025 champions trophy will be hosted in Dubai, the rest of the games are being held from 19th February to 9th March of 2025. There will be eight international teams split into groups of two, and the best two teams of each group will go on to play the semifinals. PCB stated it would only agree with the hybrid policy, if every ICC sanctioned event in the future were done in the same fashion.
