Yashasvi Jaiswal struggling during practice session ahead of IND vs BAN Test with Bumrah and Siraj challenging him in the nets

IND vs BAN Test : Bumrah and Siraj Struggles during Practice Sessions

India’s star batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal, who made an impactful contribution in their last series against England with 712 runs and holds the World Test Championship 2023-25 record with 1,028, was not at his usual rhythm during a recent practice session – prompting some concern ahead of IND vs BAN Test series.

Bumrah and Net Bowlers Taint Jaiswal in IND vs BAN Test Practice

IND vs BAN Test : At India’s training session for their match against Bangladesh on Monday (September 16), Jaiswal struggled against Jasprit Bumrah. At one point he bowled him clean, prompting Virat Kohli to step in to offer guidance and give advice based on watching Jaiswal struggle from a sideline position – giving pointers on leaving length balls behind more effectively despite receiving advice. Yet still Jaiswal struggled during net practice sessions even as Kohli gave his advice despite this help and gave pointers on leaving length balls off his bat; nevertheless Jaiswal continued struggling in practice even with instruction given from Virat Kohli for assistance from Virat’s advice given from watching Jaiswal watching him from sidelines in terms of leaving length balls which continued to trouble him throughout practice sessions on Monday 16 September 2016.

At MA Chidambaram Stadium, head coach Gautam Gambhir also intervened, taking Jaiswal aside for a focused throwdown session of 15-20 minutes wherein Jaiswal worked on his technique, particularly focusing on getting behind the ball’s line. Unfortunately, though Jaiswal worked on improving his form over these sessions he still wasn’t at his best form and failed to look formidable during tests against Australia XI and Pakistan A team respectively.

Jaiswal Has Been Struggling

Since his stellar performances during England Test series, Jaiswal has struggled badly. His performances in IPL were patchy while leading up to T20 World Cup 2024 only one hundred and one half-century was reached before benching occurred. Furthermore, these struggles continued into this training session which is raising doubts as to his readiness.

Net Bowlers Add to Jaiswal’s Challenges

Bumrah wasn’t the only bowler who presented Jaiswal with difficulties during this session; other pacers, including Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep kept testing him throughout. Jammu and Kashmir net bowler Yudhvir Singh was particularly damaging with accurate deliveries that hit Jaiswal directly between his bat and pad before hitting middle stump with Bumrah’s delivery squeezing through.

As India begins their new season on Thursday, Jaiswal faces high expectations ahead of their test match against Bangladesh. After making such an explosive debut against England and becoming one of their key attacking weapons in Test matches like Lord’s and Nottingham Forest – his success against pace bowlers could prove crucial as 10 Test matches await this season and Jaiswal should play an essential part. But his current form against them remains worrying.

Jaiswal Excels Against Spinners

Jaiswal had no difficulty taking on spin bowlers during this session and executed powerful shots on the leg side, showing his confidence against spin. However, Jaiswal may face problems bowling pace at certain pitches; India could consider keeping Jaiswal on as they prepare to tour Australia – they still have five home Tests left before heading overseas anyway!
