Perry Farrell Fights Back Against Dave Navarro for Preventing Jane Addiction Concert
Perry Farrell vs. Dave Navarro : On Friday evening during their concert in Boston, members of rock band Jane’s Addiction were involved in an intense argument during their show.
On stage, frontman Perry Farrell can be seen punching guitarist Dave Navarro. A video shared on social media depicts this incident.
A Tension-Filled Showdown
Farrell, 65 years old and guitarist Carlos Navarro 57, engaged in an aggressive confrontation where Farrell would attempt to approach and block each other with hands placed firmly against chest.
Farrell escalated a heated encounter when she shouted at Navarro until he struck out with one punch, sparking further tensions between them.
Security Steps in
Within seconds of Farrell striking Navarro with another punch, security guards stepped in quickly to ask him to “stop,” while holding back from further attacks against Navarro. An indignant Navarro grabbed Farrell by the arm as Farrell attempted to strike back again at him with another blow to Farrell’s guitar neck.
What Happened?
Farrell’s wife, Etty Lau addressed the incident via her social media. Lau provided an eyewitness account of events at Lender Pavilion in Boston where there was significant tension and hostility among band members resulting in the explosive confrontation at its conclusion. She lamented how “magic” once present had gone away altogether leading up to this point, leading her to speculate as to its source.

Health and Frustration
Lau explained that Farrell became angered with Farrell due to his decline in health before performing. Additionally, his patience began ebbing away as the stage sound seemed too loud and overshadowing his voice. Lau noted this conflict began over this disagreement over Farrell’s declining health before performing. He felt powerless against what they perceived was too loud sound levels which overpowered his vocal abilities during their audition for their show “Beat Street”.
Audience Complaints and Farrell’s Outburst
Farrell had been suffering from both tinnitus and sore throat for some time when audience members from the front row complained that the band’s volume was too loud, making it hard for them to hear what was being played. This provoked his frustration to reach its boiling point.
Lau outlined Eric Avery as being at the “center” of this drama; Avery being both co-songwriter and founding bassist was ultimately victorious during their confrontation on stage between Farrell and Avery; Avery struck Farrell several blows before Kevin, one of the crew’s members with long hair intervened and pulled Avery away by force from confronting Farrell directly on stage before heading towards the front to apologize to audience.
Lau noted that after the altercation, Avery took several “cheap shots” at Farrell. Farrell responded by acting out for approximately thirty minutes – eventually collapsing into tears from sheer anxiety and becoming completely incoherent.
